Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the above coordinates. Learn a bit about Saskatoon's early history and solve the puzzle below. Near the turn of the 20th century, ambitious developers built three stately homes on this location, anticipating that Saskatoon would soon expand this far. The developers over estimated the demand, and Saskatoon ultimately did not begin to develop this land until some 50 years later.

During this time, the three identical homes became landmarks for travelers passing through this area, and were known as the "Three Sisters". Only two of the three original homes remain; one was demolished to make way for the fire hall to the north. The remaining two are considered historic properties. You will get a view of the 2 & a half; storey properties from ahe parking coordinates. Notice that the rest of the Queen Elizabeth neighbourhood is made up of houses from the 1950s.

You are looking for a silver magnetic bolt! Jeff O'Brien in the Dec 20 2009 Saskatoon Sun notes that the boom for Saskatoon lasted from 1909-1913 and these houses were built in that spirit in 1912. The population that year was 28 000, and the real estate agents numbered 267 , that is,almost 1 for every 100 people.

To find the cache, use the parking waypoint with a mere addition of 4 to the seconds for the N coordinates and then discover the year the railroad first arrived in Saskatoon and subtract 1179 to get the West seconds! Your answer can be confirmed by GEOCHECK below. Evince should confirm. Please return the container where you found it! FTF congratulations went to Sask girl and Novy on Feb 2, 20.
