Isthmus Hill gives a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. This is the best view of Bald hill you will get without actually going there. To get to the start of the walk trail turn off Salmon holes road onto Murray Rd and then onto the road to Misery beach. The turn off to the Isthmus is off this road and is signposted. The walk is 1.6 kilometres return and is fairly steep but not to hard. When you get to the large sheet of slopping rock, walk across it to the other side where you will see the "Bald hill trail" sign. Just before you reach this sign , look to your right and you will see a goat track heading up the hill past a Banksia tree. This track will take you to the top of the hill where there is a large rock cairn. The cache is just beyond the cairn, and is a screw top cyclinder about 300mm long and is out in the open, so there's no need to go bush bashing. Don't forget to look at the view while you are at GZ, it is an awesome sight.
