Geocache Description:

This is a different kind of GPS challenge

Someone said that you could find a golf ball with a GPS.

If you are in St. John's with an hour to spare you might like to have a go at finding the ball.

A golf ball was placed on the co-ordinates. It is on Crown owned land within the City. The terrain is flat and grassy. The ball is not hidden and there is no cache or logbook. There are no clues or tricks.

The only rule is if you find the ball you must leave it there or add another ball of a different type or colour and log your visit on this page.

There is a chance a dog or person will make off with the ball, but I will make frequent checks.

July 2019 update:

The original owner, aviex, has moved away from caching in his sunset years.  I am proud to keep this cache going on his behalf, as it is one of the older geocaches in the province, and the geocaching 'game' for that matter.  This is such an interesting cache as it was approved by standards back in its day.  Currently, with no logbook (yet other logging requirements), this would not get approved as a geocache.  So whether you are a local cacher or a visitor to the province, come along and play Ballgame!  (and try to remember to pack a ball for the trip laugh)

Cache the Bayman!
