Accuracy at time of placement: 3.5m, avg. of 200 readings. You should be able to pretty much drive right up to the cache, unless there is a great deal of snow. It is not necessary to turn around there, since the road just loops around the irrigation ditch. Container is probably not waterproof, so please put all TBs and trade items in the baggies provided.
I've placed this large 24L cache at the entrance to a lovely area where the locals enjoy hiking. If you were to follow the road down to the river, you would see where a large drain empties into the river. This is water from the irrigation ditches nearby. The water from this irrigation area starts out at Lake Diefenbaker, continues on to the Broderick reservoir, makes its way through the system, eventually runs off into the ditches, and the excess ends up back in the river.
When I went to hide the cache the gate across the road that goes down to the river was closed, so I decided to hide the cache outside of the fenced area. Neighbours say that it's fine to open the gate and go through, and that it was likely closed from when there were cattle down there. Please leave the gate just as you find it. There are trails throughout the bush along the river. It should be fine to go and wander through there on foot, but please don't use it for an off-roading adventure. There are no No Trespassing signs. When I stopped by this way and explored a little in the summer time, there was a man cleaning up bottles that young partiers had left behind near a campfire.
As always, remember to tread lightly!
