In the mill
Gofio is a flour of roasted cereals, who has its origin on the Canary Islands, but is also used in many parts of South America. It is a pre spanish food, originated from the Berbers ( Morocco), which was already consumed by the canarian aborigenes (guanches) as fundamental part of their food. Gofio still today is an important element of the canarian cuisine. All my neighbors regularly eat gofio with water and salt, milk and honey or as a side dish ( forming chunks or small balls replacing the bred).
The gofio mill of Granadilla is one of the best and oldest in the southern part of Tenerife. The owner is an innovative performer, who produces gofio of best quality. Especially remarkable are the gofios, which he produces from a mixture of 3 cereals (wheat, millet, barley) and garbanzos. He also produces a selection, which uses seven different cereals.
THERE IS NO PEN IN THE CACHE
Note added 4/6/12: Due to permanent 'muggling' now moved the cache again a few meters away from the old place. Recommend to use the hints, as GPS reception might not be perfect there and I do not want the wall to be destroyed. It also is now a small micro.

El gofio es una harina de cereales tostados originaria de las Islas Canarias, que es consumida también en muchas partes de America del Sur. Se trata de un alimento prehispánico, de origen bereber (Maruecos), consumido por los aborígenes canarios (guanches) como parte fundamental de su comida. Hoy en día el gofio es aún un elemento importante en la gastronomía del pueblo canario. Todos mis vecinos todavía comen gofio regularmente con agua y sal, leche y miel o acompañado de comidas (formando pellas o pelotas y cumpliendo la función del pan).
El Molino de Gofio de Granadilla es uno de los mayores y más veteranos en el sur de la isla de Tenerife. Su propietario es un artesano innovador que elabora gofios de gran calidad. Especialmente destacable son los gofios que produce con mezcla de tres cereales (trigo, millo, cebada) y garbanzos. También tiene una variedad que usa siete cereales distintos.
NO HAY LÁPIZ EN EL CACHE
Aviso añadido 4/6/12: Por 'muggling' permanente puse el cache otra vez a un lugar nuevo. Recomiendo usar los 'hints', porque recepción de GPS no es perfecto allí y no me gustaría si el muro sería destruido). También es ahora un micro pequeño.

Gofio ist ein Mehl aus geröstetem Getreide, enstanden auf den kanarischen Inseln, das auch in weiten Teilen Südamerikas konsumiert wird. Es handelt sich um ein Nahrungsmittel aus vorspanischer Zeit mit berberischem Ursprung (Marokko), das fundamentaler Teil der Nahrung der Ureinwohnern der Inseln (Guanchen) war. Noch heute ist der Gofio ein wichtiges Element der kanarischen Küche. Alle meine Nachbarn essen immer noch regelmäßig Gofio mit Wasser und Salz, Milch und Honig oder als Beilage zum Essen (in Form von Klümpchen oder Bällchen, die dann das Brot ersetzen).
Die Gofiomühle von Granadilla ist eine der besten and ältesten im Süden der Insel Teneriffa. Ihr Eigentümer ist ein innovativer Künstler, der Gofio von höchster Qualität produziert. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Gofios, die er aus einer Mischung von 3 Getreidearten (Weizen, Hirse, Gerste) und Kichererbsen herstellt. Er produziert auch ein Sortiment, das sieben verschiedene Getreidearten beinhaltet.

Note hinzugefügt am 4.6.12: Wegen permanentem 'muggling' habe ich den Cache wieder an einen neuen Ort verschoben. Empfehle, die Hints zu benutzen, da der GPS Empfang dort nicht perfekt ist und ich nicht möchte, daß die Mauer abgebaut wird. Außerdem ist es jetzt ein kleiner Micro.
