Palmer's Quarry closed in 1980, and in 1989 was converted to a
terraced garden that is now open to the public free of charge. The
cache is a 300 mL white screw-top container, hidden at ground level
at the rarely-used north-west entrance.
Parking is available at the cache site, but to avoid suspicion
(and take advantage of other nearby caches) you may like to park at
the main entrance on North Road, opposite Baldwin Street. From here
it is a ten-minute uphill walk to the cache.
Cache is invisible at 0 m. Accuracy was 10 m at the time of
placement. The hint is explicit, so only use it if you have to.
There is room for small tradable items. Please close the lid
tightly to protect contents from water damage.
CAUTION: Some of the paths are poorly
maintained and there are some steep unguarded drops, so please take
care if traveling with young children.
NOTE: I plan to retire this cache at the
end of January 2012.
