Geocache Description:

English version is below.
GS Sachovy Turek a slavny Richard

Pisal sa rok 1809 AD. Atmosfera vo viedenskom Schoenbrune bola napata. Vecer padol na zamocky park a osvetlena sala sa zaplnila dvornymi damami, ktorym kurizovali slachticki mladici. Cudzi cisar si siel zmerat sily v nezvyklom boji.

Osadenstvo dvora zaujalo poziciu okolo stroja, pomaly utichala vrava. Napoleon sa sebavedomo posadil zocivoci neporazitelnemu Turkovi. Najskor si povedal, ze Turka vyskusa. Potiahol tah proti pravidlam, no Turek ho opravil. Napoleon vsak pokracoval vo svojej hre a znovu potiahol proti pravidlam. Turek sa nedal opatovne cisara opravil. Po tretom Napoleonovom chybnom tahu to vsak mechanizmus nevydrzal a svojou mechanickou rukou zmietol vsetky figurky. V obecenstve to zasumelo. Vypukla rozprava. Podarilo sa mu vytocit chladny stroj a to mu dodalo este viac odvahy. Ked lokaji znovu postavili figurky, posmeleny cisar potiahol kralovskym pesiakom…

Napoleon – Sachovy Turek z Presporka

Najst tah 24., ktorym dostal Napoleon od Turka mat, bude pre vas, verim, uloha lahka.

Spravne riesenie ulohy vas privedie k cislu A. Vypocitame ho nasledovne: Vezmeme 24. tah cierneho. Pismena nahradime cislami podla klasickej 26 pismenovej abecedy. Spocitame ciselny sucet 24ho tahu cierneho. Cislo samotneho tahu 24, ani znacku pre mat, ani znacku pre sach, nezapocitavame. (Ak by bol 24. tah cierneho povedzme 24. …

Po osmom tahu dospela partia do nasledovneho postavenia.

Richard - super

Rovnakym sposobom ako v prvej ulohe, si vypocitajte cisla B, C, D.

Cislo B je ciselny sucet 9ho tahu bieleho.
Cislo C je ciselny sucet 10ho tahu bieleho.
Cislo D je ciselny sucet 11ho tahu, ktorym dal Richard mat. (Z dvoch moznych variant, je D mensie nez 7)

Pouzitim vlastnej hlavy si 3 hviezdicky zasluzite, ak na to mate. :)
Neobchytkavajte ho. Nikdy neviete, ci vnutri nesedi nejaky duch slavneho sachistu.

Samotnu kesku najdete na suradniciach.

GS Chess Turkey and famous Richard

It happened in hot summer evening in 1809 AD. Atmosphere in the castle Schonbrun in Wien was tense. A lot of ladies, followed by young noblemen fulfilled the lighted hall. A foreign emperor was preparing for the unusual combat. The one and only great Napoleon wanted to gain another big victory. His current enemy was told to be unbeatable. The chess machine The Turkey from Pressburg (historical name of Bratislava city) beated all his counterparts. Kempelen, who had invented the machine, had died 20 years ago. His hellish machine invention was winning even after the death of his creator, but Napoleon was very selfconfident. .

The small talks of aristocrats calmed up as they enclosed the ches board. Napoleon sat selfconfidently in front of the unbeatable Turkey. Firstly he told to himself to try the the machine. He moved his chess piece against the chess rules. The machine corrected his move. Napoleon continued in his game and made another against the rule move. The Turkey corrected him again. After the third wrong move of the emperor, the Turkey exploded and with his mechanic hand he swept all the pieces from the board. The audience was excited. Some of them wanted to know what happened, some of them were curious of the emperors moves. Napoleon make a hand move to calm them up. He made the cold machine to react in emotions and it made him more courageous. When lacqueys prepared the pieces on the chess board again, encouraged emperor moved the king’s pawn.

The battle continued in a quick and sharp style, not very typically for a chess game, you may say. Turkey from Pressburg was too strong either for Napoleon. He overcome the emperor quite easily. Napoleon was stubborn and moved his pieces in the hopelessly lost situation. So the game continued to the situation, where is your first task.

Napoleon – Sachovy Turek z Presporka
1. e4 e5 2. Qf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ne2 Bc5 5. a3 d6 6. 0-0 Bg4 7. Qd3 Nh5 8. h3 Bxe2 9. Qxe2 Nf4 10. Qe1 Nd4 11. Bb3 Nxh3+! 12. Kh2 Qh4 13. g3 Nf3+ 14. Kg2 Nxe1+ 15. Rxe1 Qg4 16. d3 Bxf2 17. Rh1 Qxg3+ 18. Kf1 Bd4 19. Ke2 Qg2+ 20. Kd1 Qxh1+ 21. Kd2 Qg2+ 22. Ke1 Ng1 23. Nc3 Bxc3+ 24. bxc3 …?
Your task is to find the move, which used Turkey to checkmate the emperor Napoleon. I hope it will be easy for you.

The solution gives you the number A. You can count the number A in this way. Take the 24th move of the black. Take following numbers instead of the letters of chessmen: King=K=11, Queen=Q=4, Bishop=B=19, Knight=N=10, Rook=R=22, pawns doesnt have any letter as their sign.

For letters of columns use the 26 letter’s alphabet converted to numbers.

Count the cipher sum of the 24th move of the black.
Dont count the number of the 24th move. Dont count the sign for the check. Dont count the sign for the checkmate.

For example: If the 24th move of black was 24.... Nh3, the right solution is: N (as the chessman knight)+ H (letter H)+3=10+8+3=21=3. So in this case A=3.

The second task is about Richard. He was a famous chessplayer, born in Pezinok, little town near Bratislava. He was one of the best players of his time. He was the first player who beated unbeatable world champion Jose Raul Capablanca in year 1924. It was the first lose of Capablanca after 8 years. Richard also made the world record in the number of games played by heart, it was 29 games at the time without looking at chessboards.

He was the man of new era in chess. He was more an artist than a victory hunter. Inspite of that, he also reached a lot of successes. He played for Czecho-Slovakia on Chess Olympiads. He died as 40 years old.

One example of his mastership is this miniature chessgame. It was a friendly game with one of the best world players. His counterpart oversaw a gentle manoeuvring of Richard, took the poisoned Knight and finished in the lost position.

Your task is to checkmate the black pieces in 3 moves, the same way as Richard. Good feeling, isnt it? ?

After 8th move the game is in this position.

Richard - counterpart

Using the same system as in the first task, count numbers B, C, D.

Number B is the cipher sum of the 9th move of the white pieces.
Number C is the cipher sum of the 10th move of the white pieces.
Number D is the cipher sum of the 11th move of the white pieces, which checkmates the black one.. (From two possible variants, D is less than 7, D<7)

Using zour own head, you deserve 3 stars for difficulty, If you can. :)
On basic coordinates don’t look for the cache. It is not there, of course, as it is a mystery cache. If you enter the coffe house at the coordinates you can find the copy of Kempelen’s machine of chess Turkey. Don’t touch him, you never know, if inside is not a ghost of a famous chessplayer.

The final location zou will find at the coordinates:
