Cradock has suffered a similar fate to many other small country towns. Once a thriving community, the move away from smaller farms to larger holdings, better roads and cars that travel further on a tank of petrol plus the movement to larger towns and cities have all played their part in strangling these little towns.
But the people that still live there are a resiliant bunch and for those of us who have lived or worked up this way will all have very fond memories and great stories of some of the legendary nights at the Cradock hotel.
