Geocache Description:


This cache celebrates Winter Field Day 2010 which was established by the Society for the Preservation of Amateur Radio (http://www.spar-hams.org/contests/winterfd/index.php) to demonstrate the ability of Amateur Radio operators to set up emergency communications in the middle of winter. The Derby Office of Emergency Management (OEM) elected to participate in this event using the Osbornedale State Park as its base of operations. Derby OEM will operate out of the park pavilion adjacent to the parking area from 12:00 Noon on 1/30/2010 continuously for 24 hours. Please come and visit us during those hours. You will probably see some geocaching amateur radio operators that you know manning the radios.

The cache is an ammo box hidden nearby.
