Welcome to the Honey trail!

Join me, TT, De Boyz and Honey, the Boyz lovely Rough Collie, on a small series of caches on a very small walk that we have all enjoyed many times with Honey on what is her ‘quick morning walk’. This is all on the Deer Park estate in west Witney. Released for De Boyz Jnr.

History:

Witney is the only town in Oxfordshire that is still expanding and the Deer Park estate where I have always lived was one of the big developments built between 1988 and 1992 to about 1200 properties.

It is called Deer Park as it is on the site of an ancient deer park and hunting ground and is bordered by Burford Road to the North, Curbridge Road to the South and Smiths Estate to the East. It is made up of two "crescents" (Raleigh Crescent and Valance Crescent) leading to a number of roads.

Series Info:

There are three traditional caches in this series in total and if you follow the caches in order this will take you on a short circular walk of only 0.7 miles from the suggested car park. It should take about twenty minutes or so to complete.

The route takes you entirely on paved footpaths around the estate and would be suitable for wheelchair cachers with a little assistance to find the actual caches.

The suggested parking is at the shops on the Deer Park estate:-
N 51.47.206
W 001.30.529

This Cache:

This is the first of the series and is a magnetic micro which contains just the log. There is no pen or pencil so please bring one.

From the suggested parking take the footpath north on Edington Road. Once you have completed this cache continue up to Valence Crescent and turn left, then take a right up the footpath, follow this through to the T junction and turn left. Continue west until you reach Deer Park Road and turn left.

FTF honours go to CotswoldOx!! Well done.
