One of the lesser known pirates to hit Maui - really! - was Drystan
the Dire. He was aiming for San Francisco, but took a wrong turn at
Albuquerque and BANG! Smack into Maui! That’s why he wears a
patch over one eye (watch out for those branches!) It is rumored he
buried his treasure here near Black Sand Beach. He had to fight off
ninjas to do it, too – and so may you, so be careful, because
ninjas are vewwy, vewwy quiet. You don’t want to lose a leg
like Drystan did, do you?
Do ye dare leave the beach to walk into the woods? (Please, let
yer fancy and delicate folk find LavaFlo’s cache and stay
safe and clean.) There be dragons and other evil creatures in those
woods – go on, look at the ground; see the tracks of the
cloven hooves? Walk carefully now…. Do ye see the plank? Do
ye dare to walk it?
If the rum bottle is missing, then be sore afraid! The ninjas
may have gotten to it first. BEWARE!
We all know pirates are better than ninjas – witness how
totally cool Drystan the Dire is – and just look at the great
clothes pirates wear! And who but a pirate could make a missing
limb look fabulous?
When ye log yer visit – if ye get back alive – add a
line saying why you think pirates are better than ninjas - now that
ye be an honorary pirate yerself!
Small note on cache maintenance: LavaFlo will be
watching the cache, thanks
