In June 2012 the valley suffered severe flooding and the original cache got washed away aswell as the bank and the footpath on it to GZ!!!
Afterwards, we looked at the fencing that was still in place along the edge of the field by the footpath ...you could see debris was stuck in it 2 foot above ground level... now look at the height difference between the fence and the river water level to give you an idea of how much flooding there was here!!!
Since then the Council have had the footpath closed to replace the bridge and rebuild the river banking etc.
Now a lovely new wooden bridge replaces the old wobbly metal one:D
