Bike Trail #1 Traditional Cache

Grab your bike or walking shoes to access this series of caches along the WV 9 bike trail. Bike Trail #1 to Bike Trail #7 is a 2 mile round trip if you walk this entire section. The cache numbers and descriptions are from Martinsburg - heading towards Charles Town.
The entire bike trail is about 10.5 miles long, or if you park here and do the entire trail if is about 21 miles. There are over 40 caches now along this trail, all accessible by bike. The entire trail is paved, and has gentle rolling hills. Pictures are posted on some of the caches to give you and idea of the terrain.
This series of caches is located on the new bike path and is adjacent to the new and improved WV 9. It will be several years before we see the entire project completed.
Most of the caches in this series can only be accessed by walking or biking. No accessing from Route 9 - parking is ILLEGAL on Route 9. There is a fence separating Route 9 from the Bike Trail.
Martinsburg parking coordinates are listed below. Parking is at the trail head near the Regional Jail.
Because of lack of good hiding places these caches are mostly micros. Most are attached to a larger host. No LPC's or GRC's on this route. Please take care to place caches exactly as found so others can enjoy.
Bike Trail #1 cache is at the trail head and actually is one that can be accessed from the parking lot. It's an easy park and grab.
