You are looking for a small cache located in an area that is near the to the old watermill that is currently being restored.
The area can get quite muddy in the winter and after rainfall - the land near (but not near) the cache is located can get a bit marshy. Ideal for bikes but not for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
The current owners purchased the property in 1996 with a view to developing the mill into a dwelling. Following a closer examination of what was left it was decided to restore the Mill, one set of stones is now in working order.
In 1999 the wheel ran for the first time in 60 years !!!!!
Since then a considerable amount of time and money has transformed this disused building into an award winning “Working” Mill.
The building is made up of three floors Machine Floor, Stone Floor and Bin Floor with a Gantry.
The mill has 4 sets of stones, 2 Derbyshire grit stones & 2 French burrs. The Waterwheel is enclosed in a brick building adjacent to the mill. The water outlet is via a 250ft long culvert which was introduced after modifications to the waterwheels height many years ago.
The mill adjoins the farm house giving it a conservative view from the main entrance, many locals never knew the mill existed due to the properties appearance as a working farm.
The Cache is placed in a area mainly used by dog walkers, the motorway is nearby (you are not able to exit the motorway at this location to find this cache, if travelling along the road you can visit this cache by getting off at J23 and follow the signs for shepshed)
Cache contains a few swaps and a log book (with a pencil) please make sure that the cache is covered and put back in the spot where it was found.
