A woodland walk - no mountain climbing but some reasonably steep hills and great views.
This cache is about 1/2 km from the parking area. The parking area is at coordinates 44.14234,-78.61942 (N 44° 08.540 W 078° 37.165) which is about a km down an unassumed but good dirt road. There is a marked trail which leads from the parking lot through lots of forested areas. The valley trail is a little easier going, but you can go either way. Take time to enjoy the forest and the views. It was a lovely fall afternoon when we placed this cache. The cache is now now a dark green ammo box (with lots of new "stuff" thanks to Drew's Cruise for both the new ammo box and the new "stuff") hidden under several logs near a second lookout and a lovely clump of birches. We had lots of "discussions" deciding where to place the cache. Hope you enjoy the trail as much we did. There weren't any caches in the Oak Ridge Trail area so now there is! Have Fun. September 18 - This cache has been UPGRADED by Drew's Cruise. After last week's rain (our first in a month?!) we decided that we needed to take immediate action. We were right to do so, too, since when we arrived, we found that the rain had found its way into the container and had soaked everything! The cache container is now a dark green ammo box.
