I needed to make a visit to my nearby "Pit Stop" Cache to resolve some issues with it and determined this area could use another cache. I decided this would be a SMALL, since we already have a REGULAR and a MICRO along the trek up Crane's Gap. The cache container is about the size of a softball and is mainly for Small TB' s and Geocoins. Please try to leave a Traveler if you take one so this does not end up with only a Logbook in it. ALSO, please replace the container just as you found it (in an Upright position) - do NOT add camo or move it to make it more difficult. Part of the container should always remain visible from the right approach. This is NOT intended to be a difficult find. Container is starting out with 2 Geocoins and 1 TB. BYOP! When you arrive at this cache location, you will have completed the HARDEST Terrain portion of the HIKE to the other two Crane's Gap Caches. If you have NOT attempted these, I highly recommend you CONTINUE ON THE TRAIL to the others even though your GPS will try to talk you into bushwhacking when you are cresting the ridge. ENJOY! ***************************************************************************************************** RECOMMENDED PARKING & APPROACH:: Park at 40 16.333, 77 11.434 If the gate is OPEN, there is another Parking Area closer to the foot of the mountain, but it is has not been open during any of my visits. Assuming you park at these coordinates, proceed on foot past the gate in a northwesterly direction (Not NE to Rifle Range) on the gravel road. When getting closer to the foot of the mountain, you will see the Game Commission's Maintenance building which you will walk in front of to a small wooden footbridge that you will cross. Continue a short distance past the bridge on a narrow trail until you hit Crane's Gap Road (NOTE: You are NOT to drive up this road) and head towards the mountain on it for a short distance. You will only go a few hundred feet at the most and will spot a white blazed tree and a trail beside it. Take this trail and follow your GPS for remaining trail options. Good Luck!
