Eind 1916 beginnen British Engineers and Tunnelers op de Kemmelberg met het uitgraven van ondergrondse hoofdkwartieren. Zo werkt de 175th Tunneling Company tussen 4 april en eind mei 1917 onder de Lettenberg aan zo'n hoofdkwartier. De betonnen bunkers die hiertoe toegang verschaffen werden in 2004 vrijgemaakt. Het betreft vijf schuilplaatsen in gewapend beton en gegoten in grove kiezel op golfplaten met telkens één toegang en een vensteropening aan de westzijde. U kunt de bunkers bezoeken via een wandelpad met informatiepanelen. Eén bunker is ingericht als schuilplaats voor vleermuizen.

At the end of 1916 British Engineers and Tunnelers started digging underground headquarters on the Kemmelberg. The 175th Tunneling Company will be active here under the Lettenberg between April 4th and the end of May 1917. De concrete bunkers who were the access to this headquarters were excavated in 2004. We have here five shelters built in reinforced concrete that were poured in rough gravel on corrugated plates, each with an entrance and a window opening on the western side. Access by way of a footpath with information panels. One of the shelters is adapted as a shelter for bats.
