Geocache Description:

Artemis's Naiads

"A chattering crow lives out nine generations of aged men,
but a stag's life is four times a crow's.
A raven's life makes three stags old,
while the phoenix outlives nine ravens.
But we, the rich-haired Nymphs,
daughters of Zeus the aegis-holder, outlive ten phoenixes."

The Naiades were the nymphs of freshwater streams rivers and lakes.

They had extremely long lifetimes, but they were not considered immortal, It was believed that if the body of water dried, the Naiades died too.

They were often the object of archaic local cults, worshipped as essential to humans.
Boys and girls at coming-of-age ceremonies dedicated their childish locks to the local Naiad of the spring or stream.

In some places the ritual cleansings in the stream were credited with magical medical properties.

Animals were ritually drowned there.

We of course WILL NOT DO THAT!
Instead we offer Geo-Goodies .....

The cache is a clik n lok box in a camo bag with enough room for small swaps.

It has a log, pencils & a few goodies to ensure the water flows steady & thus keep this Naiad happy for now.

This can be very muddy & slippy near the waters edge, take care with children, dogs AND yourself.

Every good cacher brings their own
pen to sign .... just in case?

But you can definitly leave your tweezers at home!

Good luck!

Congratulations to Team Marzipan for going to bed early and grabbing a nice early FTF the next day!

Don't you dare call me Micro-Queen!
