Geocache Description:


This cache was placed by the City of Bowie Park Rangers. You are seeking a small cache. The Cache contains a log book and little baseball trinkets (confetti balls and bats). Terrain is paved except for about the last 20 yards.

Blacksox Park - is a 64-acre park primarily designed for baseball and softball. At the park there is a concession stand available for rental and trails in the park connect to the City's system of hiker/biker trails. Click Here to view a map of the park.

The City of Bowie today encompasses a very large tract of land in northeastern Prince George’s County that was once comprised of a vast number of colonial and early national period plantations and farms and early churches.

Our parks are precious to us in the City of Bowie. We are proud of our open spaces and our recreational facilities. The City has been recognized nationally as a winner in Tree City and Plant City USA competitions.

The City of Bowie offers an extensive selection of park and recreational facilities for all ages, abilities and interests. The City features over 1,100 acres of parkland and open space, including 22.5 miles of trails and 75 ballfields. Bowie’s parks provide facilities for many activities including hiking, biking, fishing and canoeing, as well as sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic areas.
