Geocache Description:

Welcome to the City of Bowie!

Whitemarsh Park
This cache is located at the beautiful Whitemarsh Park and was placed by the City of Bowie Park Rangers. The cache is a small traditional hide with a log book and contains toads and salamanders. The cache is located off of an unpaved trail with an uphill climb.

Whitemarsh Park is a 182-acre multi-use park which includes the Bowie Playhouse, 4 lighted ballfields, picnic areas and pavilions, a campfire circle, hiking and biking trails and a playground. There are 4 primitive hiking trails within the wooded area of the park. The Discovery Nature Trail offers a self-guided nature walk. The trailhead is adjacent to the Picnic Pavilion II. There is approximately 1.5 miles of improved trail that is accessible by wheelchair and bicycle which traverse the park.

Open areas may be used for free play activities such as frisbee, children's games, etc. A basketball court is located on the east side of the park adjacent to the baseball field.

There is a children's playground adjacent to the Picnic Pavilion II. Portable toilets are located by the ballfields and by the Picnic Pavilion.
