Camo cigar tube near rural intersection off hwy 33 (formerly route 66).
In the spring of 1887, young Michael Moriarty left his home in southeastern Iowa and headed by train to California, seeking relief in the milder climate for his sciatic rheumatism. But soon after arriving in NM he was received cordially by the son of Gov Edmund Ross, who persuaded him to consider staying here, and the young Moriarty noticed he felt considerably better after his stay in Estancia Valley. He returned to Iowa and relocated his family to NM; he died in 1932 on his sheep ranch.
