Geocache Description:

CITO hosted in partnership with GRCA - Grand River Conservation Authority
Bannister Lake - Sunday April 25th, 9:00am to 12:30ish
Dumfries Rd, North Dumfries Twp

What better way to give back than planting trees and helping to preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. Please join us for a few hours and build a lasting legacy for years to come. Listed coordinates are for roadside parking. GRCA forester will be on hand to assist with proper planting technique. End time of 12:30 is based on minimum number of attendees. Children are welcome with adult supervision.

The designated planting site is located on the west side of Bannister Lake (see gallery for rough drawing). We will be planting several species of trees including White Birch, Red Maple, Tamarack and Bur Oak to name a few. The seedlings will range in size from 12" to 24". Trowels will be sufficient for the smaller seedlings and a shovel for the larger. As these sizes do not require very deep holes the digging shouldn't be to labour intensive.

** Please meet at 9:00am sharp for some announcements and introductions. Don't forget your shovels. Everyone is welcome **

What to bring:
Shovel and/or Trowel
Clothing appropriate for weather - planting will take place Rain or Shine
Boots - lower area of the field may be wet
Water - we will try to have enough water on hand for all the volunteers but bringing additional water is a good idea
Gloves
Camera - remember to take pictures and upload them to the CITO event page.
