Geocache Description:

This is our first attempt at trying a purely night cache. You should use a good flashlight.

The whole course is contained within a 100 meter square box. We used ‘fire tacks’ which are thumbtack sized reflectors. They have been placed on tree trunks from 4 – 6 feet above ground.

The object is to find each spot and continue to follow the fire tack trail until the final site where the cache is hidden.

In this case only four stations were used with the fourth being the cache location.

The cache is a 500ml peanut butter container with the usual items.

To help with the search first go to the listed coordinates shown above. There is an orange ribbon tied to an evergreen branch overhead.

Stand under this branch and look in a north easterly direction, NE , through the trees towards site #1.

Move to the 1st fire tack. Stand to the westerly side of the tree and look NNE for #2

Then stand about 3 feet on the westerly side of this tree and scan NW for #3. You may have to move around a little incase the line of site is blocked by a tree or two.

Then stand about 2-3 feet from this tree on its westerly side and scan SSW for the 4th and final spot. You may have to move around a little incase the line of site is blocked by a tree or two.

SUGGESTION: For the best results use your flashlight like a gun sight. Place the beam close to your eye like sighting down a rifle barrel. Look for a small point of light being reflected back.

PLEASE, do not remove tacks or twist or turn them. They have been set to reflect light at their best angle for each station. Altering them will create problems for the next cachers.

CAUTION: Be careful when walking this course as there are stumps and dead falls throughout. This area is rather isolated; therefore, never venture into the woods alone.

Good Luck
