The clues you will need are hidden within the Little Salmon Bay Snorkel trail. Please see the attached maps. As you snorkel on the trail, please be very mindful of potential damage to coral. Damage to coral can take 1000s of years to recover. In addition, the Rottnest Island Authority has approved this cache, and it would be a great shame if environmental impact meant the end of this geocache in the future. We are privileged to not only have this geocache, but also to have this amazing attraction so close to shore, so let's keep it this way. I recommend if you can please use the handles on the plaques if you need to, other than standing on the bottom on the reef. if you are wearing flippers, please be aware of what they are hitting at all times while you are swimming!
Here you will need to visit the underwater plaques along the snorkel trail - you will need a snorkel mask to retrieve the clues (and your memory!) to give you the unknown numbers for final co-ordinates at:
South: 32 0W U78
East: 1V5 4X YZ8
At plaque 3 you will need to remember the number of species of tropical fish found in this area to get the values for V, W and X.
At plaque 6 you will need to remember how many words are in the title of the plaque, to get the number for U.
At plaque 10 you will need to remember the title so that you can add up the total number of letters to get the value of YZ.
You will then have all the information you need to take you to the final location on the mainland.
There isnt much point trying to take short cuts on the snorkel trail (not that you will want to!), as the plaques are easiest to find in order. You will need to take your own pen to the final cache as you will be logging your initials only in a nano cache, which is tiny, black and magnetic.
