My Hope #1 - Our Neighbourhood Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cachers in the Wry: I think I am going to shut this one down for now. Most of the kids in the neighbourhood seem to know where the cache was and I think if I put a new one out there it is only a matter of time before it is missing too. Maybe in time it will be a safe place to hide a cache again. Thanks to all who visited and enjoyed this cache and the gardens.

Geocache Description:

We love living in Hope. This cache is dedicated to our neighbourhood, on the "sunny side" of town. This means if it's a sunny day we get a few hours of sun in the winter months, whereas some parts of town are in Mt. Hope's shadow for at least a few months and see no sun at all. More caches to come in this mini series, about what makes our town so special to us.

This cache is in our neighbourhood which we love for many reasons. We are within walking distance to a great grocery store, a movie theater, all of the schools, a nice park and more. We love living in town but we are also in a nice neighbourhood, with great neighbours. We are a short walk away from the Fraser and some great trails. We are a 15 minute drive from 2 great provincial parks which means a short drive to some of BC's best campsites. Who could ask for more?

The cache is located at the new Hope Community Gardens, a new project in town organized by the Hope Garden Club. The lot where the gardens are, used to be a bulk plant and parts of it are still under environmental assessment. The KVR line used to run through the back of this property, and through the back of ours too, which is why part of the fence line is an angle. Our son has dug up some interesting railway artifacts in our yard.

There is no need to enter the gardens or climb on, or into, the rock garden outside the gates. I "hope" you enjoy our little town and please feel free to write something that you love about living here or something that made your visit special. The cache is a small lock and lock that can hold small trade items.

Congratulations Curious Nomad and Geohobo on the FTF!
