Geocache Description:

While checking out listings, have you ever come across one of those Mystery/Puzzle Caches, only to skip it out of fear, trepidation or just not knowing what to do with it? Some mystery caches are straighforward, yet others seem to provide no information from which to work. Still other caches might seem too complicated to even take on. Fear not! Here is an opportunity to pick up a few tidbits about solving mystery caches.

What does "FAQ" mean?
Frequently Asked Questions

What is a mystery cache?
See Mystery or Puzzle Caches.

Are you going to give me the solutions for mystery caches in our area?
Heck, no. Why spoil your fun? This is a chance for you to learn how to solve a variety of mystery caches, using caches located elsewhere as examples. You also will be given a suggested sequence to use when you come across a mystery cache you would like to solve.

I don’t want to mess with all that. Why don’t you just give me the coords?
Stop whining, please. It’s very unbecoming.

Is that all you plan to do?
For those who want to stay later, I can also show you how to weave baskets. We have to vacate the premises at a reasonable hour, though, so I do not believe that we will have enough time for basket-weaving. However, if we do have a little extra time and you would like to work on local mystery caches, I certainly would be available to provide assistance.

What makes you qualified to present this?
I’m not. I thought it would be fun to write up this event just to see if anyone would come. (Don’t tell the library branch manager that; she really believes people will be attending.)

Is wireless Internet access available?
Oh, yes. This library branch is brand-spanking new and comes complete with wireless Internet access. Feel free to bring your laptop. Desktop computers should be left at home.

Will I need my GPS unit?
If you plan to go caching afterwards, you certainly would want to bring your GPSr along.

What if I have an infrequently asked question (IAQ)?
Go to Infrequently Asked Questions.

How many people do you suppose just clicked on the IAQ link above?
I don’t know. You tell me.

Do I have to let you know, if I plan to attend?
For planning purposes, I would like to know how many folks to expect. Please log a “Will Attend” with the number of people who will be attending. If you find after posting a “Will Attend” that you cannotattend, please post a note or drop me an email indicating that you are ever-so-regretfully going to miss the event, or, if that isn’t quite truthful, just let me know you won’t be coming.

Are children allowed?
Babes-in-arms are always allowed. If your other children can sit through a presentation geared toward adults without being a distraction to you or other participants, feel free to bring them. As a courtesy to other attendees, please have a backup plan or be willing to leave the meeting room if your child has a difficult time. The main part of the library will be open until 8 p.m. Please keep in mind that we will be going past children’s bedtimes.

Why do you have that funky quote below?
It sounded good to me.

“I love to lose myself in a mystery; to pursue my reason to an O altitudo!"

~ Sir Thomas Browne
