Emu Crossings - The Namesake Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

o'cholio: As no progress reports have been forthcoming, we consider it's unlikely this one will survive the works, and as the series is pretty much through now there's not much point in replacing it. Thanks to all those who visited.

Geocache Description:

The final cache to be placed in the 'Emu Crossings' series.

And what better place to put it, than in the area of Mount Emu, the namesake of Mt Emu Creek?

While it isn't the source of Mt Emu Creek, we decided to commence the series at this point, owing to the creek being rather insignificant and not very scenic at its point of origin just north of Trawalla on the Western Highway.

There isn't a lot here in terms of facilities or uses for the creek, as the surrounding land is all private property, and the road bridge doesn't allow for room to drop a line. However, the views of nearby Mt Emu are magnificent and if you decide to get a better view, you will see that the mountain is rather unique in its appearance. Shame it's on private property - it would make a top spot for a cache .

There are no dedicated parking spots here; try to park as far off the road as possible. Although traffic tends to be light in this area, what little there is moves quite fast, so please be careful!
