Go the Titans!!! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

radnoski: Sorry, I obviously haven't been to this section of the Broadwater lately. I saw the fences up when I last drove past and thought is was related to the Fun Run.

The development of the Broadwater has been planned for quite a while now and it is now this sections turn to be extended out into the broadwater with the dumping of a lot of dirt/rock/sand.

The cache is either bulldozed or buried at this stage as the works in this area are quite extensive and have totally changed the area.

I am archiving this cache and hopefully soon we will have a whole new area to explore.

Thanks for the heads up Louise.Jake. Cheers!!

Geocache Description:

The cache is named "Go the Titans!!!" after the local Rugby League team, the Gold Coast Titans.

The teams colours are blue, white and gold. You will see the inspiration for these colours at this cache, with hopefully heaps of sun, sand, water & blue skies on the day of your visit.

Enjoy a nice stroll across a park on the Broadwater to track down this cache.

Parking is available a short walking distance from the cache.

The Gold Coast Titans joined the NRL in 2007 (after many previous incarnations over the years) and are shaping up to be a real contender in the competition.

The cache is a small "regular" sized container (or maybe a large "small" sized container) plastic container with enough room for a log book, pen, pencil and some medium sized swapables.

I have included:

Some random NRL 2009 collector cards (there are some non-Titan cards for visiting geocachers)

A Titans bottle opener key ring thingy with Travel Bug tag attached.

Some random squishy whale toy.

This is a great location for Cache In, Trash Out. There is a wheely bin not too far away to dispose of the rubbish that has washed ashore on to the rocks. (I found a piece of carpet, old milk container and some thongs)

What mystery trash did the high tide supply for you?

Congrats Baldderf scoring the FTF on this one. I should have set up a camera to record the photo finish between the FTF contenders.
The container was replaced in March 2012 with a slightly larger container in a new hiding spot.
