A quick cache and dash. Located just outside Flitwick on the way to Tingrith.
Parking available at the lay-by. Postcode MK45 5AR will get you pretty close. The lay-by is opposite a 'Y' shaped junction.
Go through the gate into the woods down the public footpath. Follow the path for about 50m and it leads to a bridge over the motorway. The cache is on the other side of the bridge.
The cache is a clip container containing a log book, and a few goodies.
The name of the cache was relevant when M1 J10-J13 widening works were undetaken between 2010 and 2013.
This stretch of the M1 is the oldest length of motorway in Britain and was 50 years old on 2 November 2009. The M1 's first section from Watford (near the present-day Junction 5) to Crick was completed in just 19 months, although it had no crash barriers, no lighting and no speed limit.
NOTE - The cache is accessible from the footpath. DO NOT cross the fence onto the motorway.
