Geocache Description:

The Sagamihara deposit pond is a kind of the dam called a earth-dam. Located the cache near this deposit pond.

The deposit pond exclusive use dam "the Sagamihara deposit pond" of the waterworks. It is "Yokohama water supply deposit pond" on the map. It is the facillities where is on such a Yokohama water supply that water is carried from the Sagami River to Yokohama and do the deposit processing of certain impurities in the water. Because there is a dam in a prefectural Sagamihara park it is designated to the bird watching area 50 selection of Kanagawa and be the good spot of the bird watching.
Although you are unable to enter into the facillities you can get the cache from facillities outside.

「相模原沈殿池」はアースダムと呼ばれるダムの一種です。この沈殿池の傍にキャッシュを設置しました。
「相模原沈殿池」は上水道の沈澱池専用ダムです。地図上では「横浜水道沈澱池」となっています。相模川から横浜まで水を運ぶための横浜水道上にあり、水中にある不純物の沈澱処理を行う施設です。県立相模原公園内にダムがあるため、「かながわの探鳥地50選」に指定され、バードウォッチングの格好のスポットになっています。
施設内に立ち入ることはできませんが，キャッシュを施設外から手に入れることができます。
