Nano in Durant Park
This is a Nano cache so bring your own pen or pencil since there is no room for one in the cache. It is winter friendly.
Durant Park was named for William C. Durant who was founder of the General Motors Corporation . In 1921 Durant built a $3 million factory here in Lansing known as the “Ver Linden” branch of Durant Motors. When the factory opened it employed 3,000 workers. The “Ver Linden” plant became Fisher Body plant which was torn down in the last few years. In 1919 Durant purchased this city block, he hired Charles Maxson a landscape contractor to create a park. In 1921 Durant donated the park to the city of Lansing.
