Geocache Description:

Whittle Field, a classic country airstrip, now with the added attraction of a hidden 1 litre Sistema container.

This is not the place to wait for a Boeing passenger jet to take you to destinations far and wide.

Whittle Field was named after Bob Whittle, a local World War 2 Spitfire and Kittyhawk ace, who was still flying at age 72 in 1999. It’s just a small country airfield, with a grass runway cut through the cane paddocks. On a clear day the views to Mt Warning are magnificent.

Keep an eye open for some classic aircraft; either stored here permanently, or undergoing restoration with the world renown Challinor brothers. In the middle of summer, if the sky is clear, you might be lucky to see the crew from Sky-Ads at the start or end of their banner towing run along Gold Coast beaches.

Now on to the hide, the general location of cache should be obvious enough, the challenge will be retrieving it without being observed by others at the airfield or in the nearby trucking yard. Good luck!
