A cache situated at the Dudley road Bridge over Dudley Canal no. 1.
This is one of a few caches that I have recently adopted along the branches of the BCN canal around Tipton. Due to these branches it is possible to create a loop around Tipton, Dudley Port and the surrounds and I am hoping to place more caches along the canals in the future.
This cache is situate a short distance from Tipton Junction where the Dudley Canal no. 1 branches from the BCN Old Line canal.
The Dudley Canal no 1 links the BCN Canal to the Stourbridge Canal. The route passes through the Dudley Tunnel, the second longest tunnel on the UK canal network. Due to the restictive width and depth of the tunnel most modern boats cannot pass through the tunnel. It is possible to visit the tunnels on guided tours with the Dudley Canal Trust.
After the Dudley Tunnel the canal passes Merry Hill and towards the Stourbridge Canal. Just before joining the Stourbridge Canal the canal drops down 85 feet through the 8 Delph Locks.
Stealth may be required while searching for this cache as the area is used by many people. It is also overlooked.
