Geocache Description:

Hidden as part of the 6th annual Hide and Go Cache Event.

The cache is not at the given coordinates but is nearby. Requires a short scramble to some rocks to reach the cache. Which is a camo'd 500g peanut butter jar.

Very close to a well used trial. Requires an awkward scramble over rocks to reach the cache.

We know that in Roman numerals VI = 6 ... The Romans of course were great explorers and were technically very advanced for the time. Not many know that it was the Romans who invented geocaching. They didn't use degrees and minutes, rather they had a system similar to UTM, the details of which are now sadly lost. Their geocaching motto was the then well know phrase "Veni, Quaeri, Inveni" meaning, We Came, We Sought, We Found.

Here the coordinates for this cache as a Roman would have used 2000 years ago

You'll have to add 2 million to the northing to convert between Roman UTM and modern UTM. There's one 6 in the northing and another in the easting. The northing digits add up to 33 (after you add the 2 million) and the easting digits add up to 27.

For your enjoyment, I've included in the cache photos of 6 famous cachers from the Roman period. Enjoy but please keep them dry. My personal favourite is the guy in a chariot racing for an FTF!
