Geocache Description:

Its that time of year again, Spring is here! Time to put away
those jackets and get back out and enjoy some nice weather!

The event will be at the park office building from 11:00am until 3:00 pm.

This year we are moving a little farther north for Spring Fling
'10. We have the office building reserved so we can meet rain or
shine!

The event will be pot luck, everybody bring a covered dish for the event. Also bring some trade goods and lets stock an ammo can and we can go find a place to hide it in the park. Once the cache is published everybody will be able to get a smiley.

CookieToo will have her famous $25 cash cache as well as some goodies for the kids!

Minooka Park, located in Jemison, Alabama, is a fairly new park
that has a lot to offer. There are (and hopefully will be more) a
number of caches in and the park for folks to find. The park has
trails for hiking, ATVs, and horseback. They have some primitive
camping available and will be offering full hookups very soon.
Check with the park office for camping availability. Let them know
that you are with the geocachers .

Hope to see everyone at the event!

History of Spring Fling

The first "spring fling" was organized in 2004 by a group of cachers in the Montgomery area to bring our newly formed Alabama Geocachers Association together for some fun and fellowship. The event was a great success and fun was had by all. the event was called the AGA Montgomery Meet and Greet

In 2005, Spring Fling was organized at the Confederate Solders home in Marbury, Alabama. We had a huge turnout and it was a fun event.

We skipped 2006, but in 2007 we met again at the same location for Spring Fling 2007

In 2008 we moved the event to Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka for Spring Fling 2008

Once again in 2009 we met at Fort Toulouse in Wetumpka again for Spring Fling 2009

Now its time for Spring Fling 2010 and you can help carry on the tradition! The event is open to everybody and if anybody wants to help organize land carry on the tradition let me know!
