Geocache Description:

One in a series of 25 caches placed in the desert near the turnoff to Kilbournes hole. This is a small size cache hidden inside a mechanical interactive container. Find all 25 caches...it's sure to make you smile.

This part of the New Mexico desert IS the gateway to (and from) Mexico. At this location is one of the original "gates" that settlers from the South passed through to head North. It is no longer used, but does remain to remind us of the settlers that used it in their trek North. This is a small size cache with room in the container for a log book and small trade items. Sorry, no writing instrument in this cache, please bring your own. Also, remember that you are in the desert...bring lots of water and watch out for critters that bite/sting and plants that poke. Enjoy!

Congratulations to Birddroppings for the FTF!!!
