DIRECTIONS:
The listed coordinates are for the First Set of BROWN FIRETACKS !
The Coordinates for the Parking Area And Trailhead off Brookside Ave. are in the Waypoints Section below. The hike begins at the Trailhead. Follow the Wide Trail downhill, ignoring any right hand turns and cross the Bridge over the River.
The BROWN FIRETACKS begin after making a RIGHT Turn immediately after the Bridge. Three Firetacks mark the beginning of your trailwalk. The FIRETACKS are on trees on the LEFT side of the Wide Carriage Trail. Follow the BROWN Firetacks for about a 1/2 mile, along relatively flat terrain, until you see Multiple"WHITE" White Firetacks mark where you will have to make a Left turn into the Woods. Follow the White Firetacks for an easy 100 foot Bushwhack to the Cache!
Although the Trailwalk ALONG FAIRLY FLAT TERRAIN and the SHORT Bushwack to the cache would be easy during daylight, at Night it is likely to be moderately difficult! We highly recommend that it not be done alone! Firetacks have been placed on both sides of the trees in the Bushwhack portion of your trek to help in your hike out! In addition, please be sure to waymark your hike with your GPSr to simplify your walk back to your car.
The Cache is an Ammo can containing Stuff, a Log and Pencil. PLEASE RE-HIDE WELL TO DETER MUGGLES!
The Park Has An Ordinance that includes a Curfew of 10 PM and a fine for those who violate it!
