Geocache Description:

Hodd's Hill & Baydon Wood Series

Road To Nowhere

TedsTeam have taken ownership of this series to prevent it from being archived. Many thanks to turtle140 for creating it.

To enhance the ring we have added 5 new caches; 2 at the beginning and 3 at a mid point. To avoid confusion, the original numbers have been retained.

To cachers who have already done the original ring, the 2 new caches at the beginning (#00 & #10) can both be done from the southern - Witcha - parking location as a cache & dash. They have been added to the existing route and you will have passed their locations last time you walked it. The 3 new caches at the north lead walkers along better defined tracks and despite the close proximity of the M4, I'm sure you'll find #04b & #04c pleasing. To reach these caches without having to re-walk the route we have waymarked an additional parking space just north of the motorway.

New visitors to the series will now do a route increased from about 4 miles to 4.5 miles which includes 14 caches.

It is a circular walk a couple of miles to the east of the village of Aldbourne in Wiltshire. The caches have been numbered for an anti-clockwise walk which means that the steepest gradient is then downhill. And trust us, it is STEEP

Waypoints to the preferred parking space is provided at GC23V6Z - #00. There is room for one car at this location. Optionally the route can be started at the north and its waypoint can be found at GC23V72 - #04a.

Note that at the time of placing these caches there were sheep in some of the fields between No's #01 & #02 and evidence livestock is sometimes kept in the steep field between #06 and #07 so if you have a dog with you please keep it under control.
