Geocache Description:

A Little MOGA Warmup
March 27, 2010
TIME: 1PM-5PM

Have you been couped up all winter because of snow and cold?
Did you get new hiking boots and need to break them in?
Can't make it to MOGA?
Tired of PNG's?
Want to win some prizes?

Then make sure you come out to Allerton Park on March 27th for a fun afternoon of finding a bunch of caches along the trail and competing in games for prizes.

Bring the family and bring your Travel Bugs.

There will be up to 25 temporary caches placed along at least one of the trails that will be loggable via a permanent "logger" cache. We will also have some fun games to participate in. We will be meeting in the picnic area so feel free to come early or stay late and have a picnic there. You may also want to bring some lawn chairs. Park and gates close at sundown(around 7pm) though so plan to be out by then.

If you've never been to Allerton there is a lot to see and explore. An excellent park named one of the 7 Wonders of Illinois. Beautiful Formal Gardens including a Chinese Maze Garden and the Sunken Garden where many weddings take place. Enjoy the Avenue of Chinese Musicians and over 100 sculptures including the famous Sun Singer. 7 different trails totaling 14 miles. You can also find 2 Pioneer Cemeteries on the grounds. For more information and maps of the grounds and trails please visit their website at Welcome to Allerton
