Kong’s Bunker (Wellington) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a tribute to Peter Jackson’s excellent remake of the 1933 classic King Kong movie.

The GZ is a bunker up a wee track that leads up to a great view point of the actual cliffs used in the movie - the set of Sir Jackson’s 2005 Skull Island:

CAUTION: Steep cliffs nearby - take carefull steps please !!

At time of setting up this GC, the actual SS Venture ship used in the movie can be seen on a wharf near to Penguin Palace GC1GP0Z
Update: The SS Ventre has just been scuttled in the middle of the cook strait - diving gear required!
