Henricus Historical Park History:
Named for the eldest son of King James I, Prince Henry, Henricus Historical Park recreates the second successful English settlement in the New World. In May of 1611, Sir Thomas Dale, with instructions from the London Company to replace the unhealthy environment of Jamestown and to find a secure and healthy area to establish a new town and principal seat for the colony, moved up the James River to establish the colony’s second settlement.
Adjacent to the historic site, are walking and bike paths that are free to explore. This “Alluring Cache” is hidden along these paths where history, nature and wildlife are abundant. A crisp new $2.00 bill has been placed for the first to find. Terrain rating of 2 1/2 due to summer foliage and distance to cache
A special thanks to Mark Battista of Henricus Park for his help with installing this cache.
Note: An exception was granted by Groundspeak due to the proximity of another cache.
