Manawatu Estuary (Foxton) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A nice spot to relax and take in another great view of Foxton.

This is a nice easy nano near to a plaque along one of the many walking tracks that meander through Foxton.

This is a new track and monolith within Foxton. The inscription on the stone reads:
A wetland of international importance as listed by the Ramsar Convention established July 2005.

The Ramsar Convention is an agreement of dozens of participating countries to identify Wetlands of International Importance. This site is one of only 6 in New Zealand, from a total of around 2000 sites around the world.
