4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Celebrating a great attraction that is no more - micro cache in an industrial setting...

Australia's Wonderland (subsequently known as Wonderland Sydney) was the largest theme park in the southern hemisphere for almost 19 years.

Wonderland opened on 7 December 1985. The design of the park was modeled on Canada's Wonderland, which is located north of Toronto. Wonderland had three separate themed areas: Hanna-Barbera Land, Goldrush and Medieval Faire. The Beach Water Park and Australian Wildlife Park were also added in 1988 and 1990 respectively.
Like many children of the 80s who lived in western Sydney, I remember nearly falling out of the Bush Beast when I was way too young to be riding it, waiting in line for the Space Probe when it first opened, having my chest squeezed to almost breaking point by the lap bars on the Pirate Ship and generally having fun and getting the most out of the several Wonderpasses that I had over the years.

It's definitely a shame that Wonderland isn't still around today. Luna Park is certainly a distant runner up. Wonderland stood at this site for almost 19 years and unfortunately, the only reminder of it today appears to be the name of the street on which the cache is hidden.

This is my first cache hide so I would be grateful for any feedback. Happy hunting!
