Geocache Description:


Nette Unterbrechung der Fahrt auf der B2 mit der Möglichkeit eines Spaziergangs.
Die B2 geht von Mittenwald über Berlin bis zur Ostsee an der Grenze zu Polen und ist damit
die längste Bundesstrasse in Deutschland. Bis 1934 überquerte sie an dieser Stelle die Ramsach
und ging mitten durch Hechendorf. Dann wurde die heutige, westlichere Trasse als "Olympiastrasse" gebaut.
Die Ramsachüberquerung ist schon sehr alt und taucht zum Beispiel in dieser Karte von 1568 auf:

The B2 is the longest Federal Highway in Germany.
It crossed the Ramsach at this site until 1934, when today's more westerly route was built.
A bridge over the Ramsach was here since ancient times, as shown on this map dating from 1568.
