Geocache Description:

Pleasant visit to the Churchyard of the historic Abbey.

Polesworth Abbey stands of the north bank of the River Anker in the centre of the village of Polesworth. The Abbey was founded almost 1200 years ago and the site contains the remains of the Mediaeval Cloister, the Parsonage House and Refectory, as well as the Church and enigmatic mound in the Churchyard. The mound is of uncertain historic origin.

8 bells hang in the tower behind, the oldest cast around the time of the great fire of London. Shakespeare is even reputed to have been educated at Polesworth.

Congratulations to the Tamworth-Two for being the first to find our very first cache.

Also well done to gold735uk for being STF.
