If you are approaching this cache from Knoxville, you will see a white church off to the right, sitting atop a low bluff, with a creek running along its base. Look for the steps, leading down from the church to the creek.
For generations people have gathered at the river, or whatever other body of water affords itself, for baptisms. This is such a strong tradition that in 1864, Robert Lowry wrote a song about it, from which this cache takes its title.
Alas, modern times are here, and the church elected to relocate the baptism site to the top of the hill, in what Granny Clampett referred to as the cement pond. And the cement pond even has a fancy roof over it to keep out unwanted debris. But who can blame them? After all, that creek flows a considerable distance through cow pastures. Yes, agricultural runoff has put a change on this hallowed tradition.
Hunt this one in the day time, please. The nearest house is the residence of one of the Sherriff's deputies.
