PLEASE NOTE: All caches in this series are hidden within the coverage area of the station. They are not located at the fire station.

Wilmot Township Fire Department consists of 3 stations. New Hamburg, Baden and New Dundee. 75 volunteer firefighters in total (25 at each station). Baden station also houses the local ambulance service. The Wilmot Heritage Fire Brigades museum is situated behind the fire station. Check out the old fire trucks.
Baden's volunteer fire department has always played an important part in the life of the village. In the early 1920's, the saw mill and lumber yard burned down. The men did their best with the equipment they had which was a hand pumper but the fire raged out of control. A call for help was sent to the New Hamburg Fire Dept. who came as fast as they could with their steam engine drawn by horses but they were too late to save the mill. It was then the residents of Baden realized the need for some modern firefighting equipment and a Model T fire engine was purchased. This was the beginning of the Baden Fire Department.

The fire department is responsible for a wide range of activities. These include firefighting and all categories of rescue matters along with the handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Performing activities such as the removal of trapped victims from vehicles or building may be required. The firefighters are also trained in advanced first aid and would assist in the treatment and evacuation of individuals when required. Our fire personnel train on a continuous basis to ensure their ability to respond to emergencies with the township and handle them in a fast and efficient manner.
