This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 15 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

The F/V Hannah Boden is a 100-foot commercial fishing vessel that at one time was sister ship to the ill fated F/V Andrea Gail. Based out of Gloucester, MA, both of these ships were caught in “The Perfect Storm,” also known as the “Halloween Gale,” of 1991, in which the Andrea Gail was lost.

At the time, this swordfishing boat was captained by Linda Greenlaw, a long time veteran of the industry. According to published sources, the Hannah Boden was the last vessel to talk to the Andrea Gail before all contact was lost, and the Andrea Gail disappeared.

The F/V Hannah Boden

This cache is a small tribute to the men and women who fish commercially world wide.

You are looking for a large, approximately gallon-sized camouflaged plastic container.

There are several houses close to the cache, so please be aware of muggles and use stealth as necessary.

Original contents include an emergency rain poncho, a whistle/compass keychain, some small flashlights, a kids temporary tattoo kit and some Lefty Writer tags.

Have fun, be safe, and happy caching!
