Geocache Description:

A cache to celebrate a big day out caching on the 13 Feb 2010

Following a fairly lengthy thread on Yorkshire Geocaching dot com
(visit link)

G7HRP , Bob Adams and Langerz left Hebden at 07:30 on the 13th Feb 2010 to take in caches in the Dales, the two Holy Grail Caches were at 2 Trig Points 1: Meugher Trig (Sykopath GCY9FD) and 2: Mark Hill Trig (Syklosporin GC10JC4)

In all we attempted 19 caches, 17 finds and 2 DNF's due to snow drifts making retrival impossible , we covered 17.5 miles and ascended to almost 2000 feet at the highest point , we encountered sunshine , rain and a blizzard that had us in white out conditions for 1/2 an hour. The trip took 12 hours with the last 2.5 hours in the pitch dark under head torch.

Perhaps most importantly we all proved to ourselves that we were capable walkers and despite the appaling conditions we completed what we set out to achieve.

To mark this trip we decided to place a geocache, its not as remote as the Syko or Chix Trix caches that we visited but will still test you. Once at GZ its an easy find we look forward to your logs.

All the pictures from our big day out are on photobucket follow this link

The link below shows the original plan (blue plot) against the live GPS recorded data (red plot) which tracked our walk in real time. We were also reporting via geocaching live (visit link) whenever the mobile phone had coverage and received many messages of encouragement whilst out on the walk, thanks to all who participated in that.

Addendum:During 2010 both G7HRP and Langerz spent considerable time in plaster with broken legs , Bob Adams continues to do his cache a day in complete fear of being the third!
