Don't "Greave" for Silverdale Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TySu: After a recent DNF, I checked this one and it was missing. When this cache was first placed, the road was new and there was a nice grassy slope between the sidewalk and the tree line. Now the area is overgrown with blackberry bushes and vines making it difficult if not dangerous to reach. Couple that with the growing homeless encampments in the area and I have decided that it would be in everyone’s best interest to move this cache to “archive” status.

Geocache Description:

Update -- When originaly placed, there was a nice gentle grassy slope beside this road. Now the Scotch Broom has taken over. Also a local property owner has claimed a portion of the right of way as his own. Approach the cache from the sidewalk near the lightpole. Terrain adjusted accordingly. Cache is fairly easy and safe for the kids, and it is out of sight of most muggles.

Congratulations to misenar and Titanium Bill for co-FTF, 2/14/2010 (first of TWO on the same day for that duo)! This cache was placed to commemorate the opening of a new road built by the county and intended to attract new commercial developement. At a cost of $13 million, the taxpayers are hoping it pays off quickly. The road has been named for a local family whose homestead farm is now the site of the nearby shopping mall.
